Kudu, Duiker, Steenbuck, Mountain Reedbuck, Springbuck, Aardvark, Aardwolf and an abundance of smaller mammals occur naturally on Karoo Ridge Conservancy. Red Hartebeest, Burchell’s Zebra and Black Wildebeest have been reintroduced. In the future we would like to introduce game species which are in need of conservation and which occurred here historically.
Due to the different habitats available there is a wide variety of bird life from Verreaux’s eagle and African Snipe to summer visitors like Paradise Fly catchers and Booted Eagles.
