Education

As custodians of this land, we believe that we need to lead by example in our management style. We also have a responsibility to assist in educating the younger generation of conservationists and have third year nature conservation posts and internships available.

We facilitate students from SANParks and Eastern Cape Parks as well as students from other government conservation platforms, like Cape Nature, to complete their Nature Conservation modules. It is a privilege to help develop the worlds future conservationists.

Past students of ours are now based throughout Southern Africa working in the government and private sector involved in all aspects of conservation including education, anti-poaching and reserve management.

We are the stewards of the Andre Wenham Bursary. This is an annual scholarship for students attending CPUT. They must have completed year one of nature conservancy and must not be in receipt of any other government funding. Read more about past bursary students on our blog

Please contact us for further information.

Karoo Vulture Safe Zone

Started as an initiative by farmers in the Graaff-Reinet area, this is now a joint venture between land owners, SANParks, and the Endangered Wildlife Trust. The project is to create safe spaces for vulture, in particular the Cape Vulture, and encourage them to return to their historic roosting and breeding sites. There has been an increase in sightings and keen birders can assist in reporting.-
